Tulare County Symphony
The Tulare County Symphony has added the rich experience of music to the central California region since 1960. This not-for-profit organization is composed of dedicated local residents whose passion is sharing the music with which they are so ably gifted.
The Central California Chinese Culture Center
The history of California would be vastly different had it not been for the multitude of Chinese people who came to the area as laborers during the California Gold Rush. The history of these fascinating people is captured in a microcosm of a Confucian temple complete with paintings, cultural artifacts and amazing architectural finds.
Fresno Art Museum
The Fresno Art Museum is the only modern art museum between Los Angeles and San Francisco and provides the residents of central California with exhibits, concerts, films, lectures and other media to promote the appreciation of all artistic works. Exhibitions focus primarily on contemporary and modern work, especially Mexican art from pre-Columbian times.
Fresno Grand Opera
In operation since 1997, the Fresno Grand Opera is a wonderful enrichment to the central California region. The company produces world-class caliber performances of via concerts and operatic theatre and prides itself on its commitment to excellence in this special art form.
Central California Ballet
The Central California Ballet is the San Joaquin Valley’s only semi-professional dance troupe. The company’s mission is to provide a professional environment for working dancers as well as presenting excellence in ballet entertainment for residents and visitors to the region.
The Enchanted Playhouse Theatre
Every story has a happy ending at this magical theatre formed in 1992 for the delight of children of all ages. The theatre’s mission to “enchant, surprise, excite and amuse audiences, young and old” drives this dedicated team of performers and support crew to bring magic to every day and every child who is lucky enough to visit.
Visalia Fox Theatre
Originally opened in 1930, the historic Fox Theatre in Visalia was the showcase for the early days of talking pictures. As in many small towns, the movie house became the center of social experiences which is true of this beloved theatre. The years have taken their toll on the unique building with the East Indian motif but restoration is underway spearheaded by the Friends of the Fox organization whose goal is to make the theatre available as an artistic venue for many years to come.
